Hamas Murders Six, and NYC Cheers: My Take on the Extremism Problem

How Extremists on Both Sides Fuel Hamas’s Deadly Confidence

Hi Reader,

Last week I promised you my take on Hamas's murder of the six Israeli hostages.

But before we get started on that this week. I'll be live streaming my watching of the debate so that we can watch it together. Click below to subscribe to the live stream and my channel.

As my most devoted audience, you know I am a Zionist. Meaning, I believe in the right of the nation-state of the Jewish people to exist.

Kidnapping and murdering anyone should be considered universally wrong. This week, Hamas supporters in NYC took glee in these murders. "Where's Hersh you ugly ass bitch?! Go bring them home" they exclaimed:

Something I read into this is that the extreme left is okay with executing other Americans for simply disagreeing with them. I believe the same for the extreme right as well, think "hang Mike Pence" chants.

I stand on a platform of watch the other side, learn from the other side, conclude based on the widest array of ideas. Where I conclude after contemplating the ideas in this video is that the condition of using free speech to nurture a full marketplace of ideas is in more peril than I thought.

For example, in the above video, there are enlightened (sarcasm) college students at my alma mater screaming "all Zionists are racists." What makes it even better is that this is taking place on my alma mater campus, Hunter College. Check out my video I made almost a year ago below.

Why do I care? Because like I started off, I am a Zionist. If you ask me, if you're anti-Zionist and only anti-Zionist, YOU are the racist. You'd believe that the Jewish people are the only people are the only nation to not be entitled to a state. That's simple racism against Jews.

Imagine how popular the idea would be nowadays to dismantle France as the nation-state of the French. Compare it to how popular the idea of dismantling Israel as the nation state of the Jewish people. The latter is widely more acceptable and popular.

To be fair, one can be against the idea of any state existing which is what Sam Stein thought in my interview of him in November. But that is unrealistic and extreme to almost all of us, I'd like to think. Nonetheless, it's the ideologically consistent version to call for the dismantling of Israel, while not being an anti-Jew racist.

But Charles, this was supposed to be about the murder of the hostages! I hear you. I'm getting there.

Hamas coerced their captives that they've been holding for almost a year to make videos calling on Israeli and American heads of states for a ceasefire in Gaza. Oddly enough, Hamas is rejecting all reasonable (as determined by a variety of states, not myself or Israel) terms to end the war since May.

What is it that emboldens Hamas to have this attitude? Why don't they release the hostages and quadrouple the return?! A 4:1 ratio of convicted Palestinian criminals to kidnapped and tormented Israeli babies and civilians is a great return on investment for terrorists like Hamas, wouldn't you say?

It is the attitude of the extreme left in this free nation, the United States. The extreme left in this country dissuaded VP Harris to unpick Gov. Shapiro as her running mate based on his religion (in my opinion and per reporting by Mark Halperin, although Mark didn't attribute this to Shapiro's religion, I did).

It is the extremist as videoed above that support the murder of a fellow American just because they disagree with his politics. It is the attitude Governor Walz has in, at first not condemning these murders (video below) then releasing a tweet as a form of damage control (also below).

This is what allows Hamas to perpetrate the human suffering on both sides. The suffering of Israelis and their own people. Why should Hamas alleviate the pain of anyone if they don't have to suffer the blowback of prolonging this conflict? Racist forces in Israel's most important ally are doing a great job in fomenting a culture of killing those who aren't in complete agreement with the extreme left.

There are my short thoughts on what fueled, and allows Hamas to murder these six innocent souls in cold blood.

I invite dialogue. Reply to this email, let me know your thoughts. Disagree, compliment, or insult me. All is welcomed!

Dear Reader, As we approach the one-year mark since the deadliest attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust, I find myself reflecting on the horror, the trauma, and the twisted celebration of violence that has since unfolded. My family was in Israel that day, and the fear that gripped me is something I’ll never forget. It’s a fear that echoes the centuries of persecution my people have faced, even as we’ve sought refuge in Western democracies. This video is in podcast form too. A...

In my newsletter last night I reported that Donald Trump was shot at and his most recent assassination attempt. That was incorrect, my, my apologies. A big thank you to Pete for pointing that out. Apparently in the haste of the aftermath and me trying to get this letter and me trying to get this letter out, I missed that nuance. Donald Trump was not shot at this week, but there was an apparent assassination attempt on him. On September 15, 2024, an individual armed with a rifle was spotted...

To: Reader Sorry guys, I forgot to change the subject line this week. Excuse the double send! Harris’s Scripted Victory, Terrorist Retribution, and a Near Miss for Trump Hi Reader, This week, we witnessed political theater, justice served in blood, and a near-fatal assassination attempt that barely raised eyebrows. Here’s my raw take on this week’s top headlines—unfiltered and as real as it gets: The Presidential Debate: Did Harris Really Win? Everyone’s talking about Kamala Harris “winning”...
